I’ve personally seen people enjoying Hallstatt swimming in a few spontaneous spots. On the west side of the lake, near the hut at Seeraunzn, some swimmers jumped straight into the water there.
Another quiet place is between the Hallstatt train statio and Schloss Grub, where a few benches and shelter sit right by the lake. It’s peaceful, with easy water access.
And of course, some visitors rent a boat right in the center of Hallstatt village and cool off by jumping in for a quick swim. It’s refreshing and fun — especially on a warm summer day.
